What is the Right to Disconnect?
From 26 August 2025, employees of small businesses (fewer than 15 employees) have a legal right to disconnect from work outside their usual working hours. This means they can: Refuse to monitor, read, or respond to workrelated contact (calls, emails, messages). This applies even if the contact is from clients, suppliers, colleagues, or the public.
