Meet the AWCI NSW & ACT Board of Management

The AWCI NSW & ACT Board of Management is made up of passionate industry professionals who proudly represent and advocate for our members.

Each board member brings valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in the wall and ceiling industry, helping us stay connected to the real challenges and opportunities our members face. Together, they provide guidance, champion industry interests, and ensure members have access to resources such as training, legal advice, and networking opportunities.

To join the Board of Management as an officer or delegate, members must pass the Fit and Proper Person test and have active experience as a wall and ceiling liner. This keeps contractors at the heart of our association and drives everything we do.

Shane Crocker

President

Shane Crocker has been part of AWCINSW for over 20 years and is proud to lead as President. He’s passionate about keeping the industry strong and united and encourages everyone in the wall and ceiling trade to get involved. Shane is also a big supporter of apprentice training and helping the next generation build their skills and careers.

Mark Gousev

Operations Manager

Mark has been part of the wall and ceiling industry for over 25 years and got involved with AWCI during his apprenticeship through Workskills competitions. He’s passionate about giving back and helping new members discover AWCINSW. Mark wants to raise awareness of the association, bring members together, and ensure the industry gets the recognition it deserves.

Ron Bissett

Delegate – Technical Services Manager, Knauf Plasterboard NSW/ACT

Ron is a qualified painter and decorator with 40 years in the building industry and 22 years in plastering. He serves on several national committees and believes being part of the AWCINSW Executive is important for driving positive changes in the industry at both state and federal levels.

Tristan Bethell

Delegate – Director, Dream Linings

Tristan has been in the wall and ceiling industry for over 24 years. He joined the AWCINSW Executive to share his experience, support the industry, and help keep the trade skilled and highly respected. Tristan believes in bringing together both new and experienced members, encouraging apprentices, and strengthening the industry—he encourages all wall and ceiling liners to get involved and be part of the association.

Lance Carr

Delegate – Director, Absolutely Plastered with Lance

Lance has been in the wall and ceiling industry for 18 years, running his own company in regional NSW. He joined AWCINSW to give back to the industry and support its growth. Lance is passionate about training apprentices and helping build a strong new generation of tradespeople, and he’s proud to work alongside like-minded professionals to shape a bright future for the industry.

Vic Malishev

Delegate – Director, EW Linings

Vic has been in the wall and ceiling industry since the early 1990s, starting with Boral before joining his father’s contracting business, E&W Linings. He values the guidance he received early in his career and now aims to give back to the industry. Vic believes AWCINSW is all about supporting its members and providing the help, guidance, and resources plasterers need to succeed.

Cody Whittaker

Delegate – Director, Creative Plastering & Building Supplies

Cody began in the plastering industry in 2011 and, with guidance from a supportive mentor, progressed from labourer to business owner. He joined the AWCINSW board to help build and grow a strong network of plasterers, builders, and tradespeople, fostering a community where everyone can work and grow together in Albury, Wodonga, and surrounding areas.
