16 June 2026
Covering FRLs, compliance, tested systems and the installation practices that truly deliver fire performance on site.
- Date: 16 June 2026

- Format: Live Online Webinar
- Presenters: Mark Gousev - AWCI & David Lake – CSR Solutions

1. Fire Performance the Gyprock Way Understanding FRLs & Tested Systems
- Fire fundamentals simplified for plastering contractors
- What an FRL actually means on site (not just on drawings)
- How Gyprock fire systems are tested and assessed
- Why only tested Gyprock systems matter in fire performance
- Using The Redbook 1 to select the right fire system first time
- Installing to The Redbook 3 to install the tested system
Key message: Fire performance is system‑based, not board‑based.
2. Compliance Isn’t Paperwork — It’s Construction
How Gyprock Red Book 1 & 3 supports NCC fire compliance
- Reading fire details correctly (wall types, shaftwalls, ceilings)
- Where contractors commonly assume → and get caught out
- Variations from tested systems and who carries the risk
- Documentation, shop drawings and evidence of compliance
Key message: If it’s not in The Red Books (or assessed in the fire report), it’s not compliant.
3. Installation is Everything What Really Delivers the FRL
- Correct board selection (fyrchek, shaftliner, thicknesses, layers)
- Framing design for internal wind loads, stud spacings and deflection heads
- Fasteners: type, spacing and embedment
- Critical details:
- Penetrations
- Junctions
- Control joints
- Fire stopping interfaces
- Coordination with other trades before the wall is closed
Key message: Small installation changes can cost big fire performance.
4. Preventing Rework, on Site Common Defects, Do’s & Dont's
- The most common fire‑rated defects seen on site
- What not to change without approval
- Typical installer shortcuts that break the FRL
- Practical do’s and don’ts from real Gyprock systems
- Final checks contractors should make before sign‑off
Key message: Most fire failures are avoidable with the right habits.
